The Moroccan Traverse

Starting from Islane at the far western end of the Atlas mountains we aimed to complete an un-supported winter traverse of the "Ridge of 100 Peaks" to the Tichka Plateau. A lack of late-season snow had left the route very dry and we spent five hot and tiring days above 3000m. On the morning of the sixth day we were engulfed in a near white-out as we descended to the mountain hamlet of Tigouga from where we hitched back to Marrakech for a well earned tajine (and pizza).

Rediscovering Goblin Coombe

I learnt to lead at Goblin Coombe many years ago and so returning to introduce Erinna to outdoor climbing was quite a memory trip. We had the opportunity to climb so long forgotten routes on the far right for the first time in decades thanks to the excellent cleaning work of a few local individuals.

Wyndcliffe Weekend

Two days in the sunshine climbing with Owen and Steve ticking all of the starred classic routes at Wyndcliffe. Also a good chance to try out some timelapse photography techniques over a whole climb.

First foray into Ski Touring

Despite skiing for many years we had never tried touring and so myself and Will hired a set of skis and skins and battled our way through the strong winds across the base of the Northern Corries. Will only fell over once.

Cairngorm Climbing

Unbelievably awesome climbing conditions in Scotland with no shortage of snow loading up the slopes in Coire an t'Sneachda. Will and I headed to the far right to climb Invernookie in my euro-style full body green outfit.
