Djangart 2013 Expedition

A major expedition for three weeks to the Djangart valley in Kyrgyzstan. With five other friends, we climbed seven new alpine routes on unclimbed peaks in the range. For further details, please see the Djangart expedition website.

Tremadog Intro

Despite forcasts of heavy showers and thunder, the whole of Snowdonia was bathed in sunshine today. Myself and Clay gave Erinna an introduction to multi-pitch trad climbing at Tremadog, and then finished with a couple of the more interesting VS routes before heading back to PyB for the BMC AGM.

Lion and the Lamb

The snow was being stripped fast on Sunday, so rather than climb we headed up to the Lion and the Lamb for a ramble over the crags and hills near Grasmere.

Winter in the Lakes

As the M6 closed, we battled on through the Blizzard to the Lakes on Friday night. Greeted by mostly clear skies and high winds on Saturday morning, myself and Clay headed up onto Brown Cove Crags to climb Right Buttress Crack.

It was a fairly intense day with no goggles, heavy spindrift, 3 left gloves and chest deep powder in the gullies, but a good chance to try out the GoPro in some poor weather.

A Welsh Winter Gully

Taking advantage of the cold weather in Snowdonia, myself and Clay headed up onto the N face of Glyder Fach. We climbed a gully in the vicinity of Main Buttress, not entirely sure of the exact route, and descended very wet after the weather turned a little more Scottish post-midday. A good chance to test out some new kit though!

The Altai: Russia 2012

My major expedition of the summer was a 3 week adventure exploring the South Chuyski Range of the Altai Mountains in Southern Siberia. Rather than duplicate pictures and details, I'll point you to the dedicated trip website at www.thealtai.co.uk.
