Snow shoe in Ramsau
Another snow shoe adventure with Erinna, after driving as far up the roads of Berchtesgaden as our little car would manage. Like a good orienteer, Erinna always managed to nuzzle her way through the best paths in the powder.

With Salzburg plastered in snow, Erinna and I tried out our new snow shoes with a short night hike on Kühberg.
One final route for 2018 - the Peak District’s “longest scramble”. 70m of crumbly limestone, moss and mega winds. Next time we’ll go to North Wales.
Don’t confine yourself to thinking in the vertical! 10m high cliffs can offer 100m+ routes if you go sideways. After the fun I had last year on Herford's Girdle Traverse at Castle Naze, a New Year's trip to the Peak gave me and Dave a great chance to try another classic horizontal adventure. Several hours later, our very long, windy & cold girdle traverse was complete.
Our first Christmas hosting my family in Austria, a good couple of days skiing with Doug include a powdertastic day in the trees and gullys at Zauchensee.
In December we hosted three sets of friends from England on mini ski-breaks to the Austrian mountains. Thanks for the fun visits Louise, Marcus, Aisling, Mark, Moffatt & Anna!
